The birth of Access Dorset in 2010
– nothing about us without us!
Access Dorset aims to enhance the everyday lives of disabled people, older people, carers and other people who may benefit from support or information. We were formed in 2010 by a group of disabled and older people who felt they needed a representative voice in Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset.
Access Dorset is a ‘user-led’ organisation, run by our members. We currently have an individual membership of 600 disabled and older people and an informal partnership with 20 other user-led organisations.
We are a forward thinking, creative organisation that is driven by a desire to further the inclusion of disabled and older people in all aspects of our lives.
