Information and advice over the telephone or by email

We can provide you with the information you need over the telephone or via email. We have a knowledgeable team who can advise you on a number of topics. If we don’t have the answers or you need some more specialist support on a certain issue we will make sure we put you in touch with someone who will be able to help you.

Face to face at an advice surgery

Sometimes to give you the right support we may need to ask you to pop in and see us at one of our advice surgeries. Our surgeries are run twice a week from our office at The Littledown Centre in Bournemouth. We would like to offer more surgeries around Dorset and are working towards obtaining funding to make this possible. We are hoping to start offering them in the west of the county in the near future.

One to one advocacy support in times of crisis

If you are dealing with multiple, complex issues, that are having a significant impact on your life then you may be offered support from our crisis advocacy service. This service offers one to one support, provided by a Caseworker, to help you to find your way out of your crisis and get your life back on track. This service is funded by the lottery and is available in the east and the west of Dorset.

Thanks for talking me through the forms I have to fill in to claim for a Personal Independence Payment. I feel a lot better just having someone check that I wasn’t doing it wrong. I still don’t understand why it was necessary to change the system though.

Hi, just to let you know. I hired a mobility scooter for my trip to Sidmouth for two days. It cost me £10 per day, but that meant I had the scooter with the charging cable over night. The staff were very helpful too.
The company I used was called Hearing and Mobility Sidmouth. Tel: 01395 519850 and their email address is: sidmouth@hearingandmobility,com

I hope you find this information useful. Kind regards.
